Welcome!
We all know that this election is too
important for bumper sticker slogans; slick political
sound bites oversimplifying complicated issues like healthcare, energy
and our economy and that often deceive us into voting against our own i
nterests.
America’s problems are clear and the need for real solutions become more
urgent as days pass.
As a good friend recently stated, “Shifting the balance of our symbiotic
Left-Right 'Politics of Division' cannot solve the underlying problems.
We must re-define the real-issues, abandon the Progressive-Conservative
distraction, and re-frame the debate process.”
Recent debates involving
health care, credit cards, jobs and financial reform have shown us the
people’s interests are not being considered. Rather, our Bush era
Supreme Court Justices have seen to it that big financial interests will
continue to control not only our government, but our lives.
Well, the rules have changed—we
can’t wait for Congress to act with integrity or f
ind
the courage to enact real reform. It's time to stop governing and
electing by "bumper sticker." Now is the time for us to use the tools of
government –
regulation, oversight and enforcement
– to break the stranglehold multi-national corporate interests have on our government.
NO MORE OF THE SAME
We must get our national priorities straight! Before we can more than
marginally accomplish anything, we must have publicly financed campaigns
and get the multi-national corporate money out of our politics. We
must stop sending incumbents who believe, as Rick Larsen does, that
campaign reform is okay for judicial races, but not when it comes to his
own campaign coffers. We must stop sending the
same people to Congress who fail to work for us and instead work for Wall Street.
Mr. Larsen made it clear that he stood with the banks when he voted for
the Bankruptcy and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 and helped the GOP
pass a bill that did nothing to protect consumers or the military from
usurious interest rates.
Larsen's voting record reflects his pandering to the
corporate interests who donate to his campaign. We must restore
the balance between the mega corporations and the people. The
scales have been tipped for too long in favor of the corporations.
We need them to invest in this country to create the jobs we need here;
jobs that we need now.
As was all too clear with the recent “sausage making” in D.C., we need
to elect candidates committed to public service who will not cave to the
multi-national corporations.
Before I retired, I worked as an investigator fighting organized fraud;
Now, I want to take that fight to Washington D.C., and help other
like-minded, forward-thinking representatives take our nation—and the
future back for our children and grandchildren.

at hand.”
